Municipalities adjust schedules for the holidays

Kitchener Post staff

Over the Christmas holiday season, there is no change to waste collection.

Regular collection will take place on Dec. 26 and Dec. 27 as well as for the balance of the week.  Regular collection will take place on Jan. 2, 2012 and the balance of that week.

Separate curbside Christmas tree collection in Kitchener runs from Jan. 2 to Jan. 13, 2012, on the same day as regular garbage collection.

How residents can help with collection:

• Place green bins, recycling, garbage and Christmas trees at ground level at the end of the driveway.

• Have all waste out by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day.

• Only trees free of all plastic and decorations will be collected.

• Cut large trees in half.
