A woman who attempted to rob a downtown bank claimed to have a weapon, police say.

The incident occurred Oct. 3. A woman approached a teller at a Bank of Montreal branch on King Street West, indicated that she had a weapon and demanded money, according to police.

Police say no weapon was seen and the woman left the bank without receiving any money.

The woman is described as being white, 5’2″, 140 to 150 pounds and 42 to 45 years old. She reportedly had shoulder-length brown hair, was wearing a bluish-green V-neck T-shirt and carrying a purse.
