Brantford man Kitchener’s fourth homicide victim of 2012

Kitchener Post staff

Police have identified the victim of a Nov. 30 homicide as 20-year-old Brantford resident Devane Campbell.

Police say the homicide occurred Nov. 30 at about 11:30 p.m. Officers were called to a townhouse complex at 199 Elm Ridge Drive, where Campbell was discovered suffering from trauma. He died at the scene.

Campbell’s body was taken to Hamilton over the weekend for an autopsy, which determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds.

Investigators say the shooting does not appear to be a random event. They believe Campbell may have been involved in an altercation with two or more people, however no suspects have been identified.

Police continue to investigate the case. Anyone with information can contact police at 519-650-8500 ext. 8657 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
