Cyclist sent to hospital following crash

A 39-year-old Niagara-on-the-Lake man was taken to hospital after his bicycle was hit by a car Nov. 22.

Police say the collision occurred on Belmont Avenue near Glasgow Street. The victim was riding his bicycle along Belmont when it was struck by a car driven by a 32-year-old Guelph man.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, alcohol and speed did not contribute to the crash.

Police continue to investigate and ask any witnesses to contact them at 519-653-7700 ext. 8856.
