This sculpture of a tree spirit by Colin Partridge is just one of many carvings you’ll find in downtown Orangeville.
Back in 2002, Mayor Drew Brown initiated a plan for saving the trunks of aging maple trees. Since then, more than 19 artists have transformed more than 50 dead trees into lively looking works of art.
You can download Orangeville’s Art Walk of Tree Sculptures brochure or pick it up at their town hall or public library.
Or you can do what I did and wander around aimlessly, only to find out later that you missed seeing half the tree sculptures.
