Condors fall to Niagara to start 2013

By Kitchener Post staff

The Conestoga Condors returned to OCAA volleyball play Wednesday at home against the Niagara Knights.

The Condor women (3-7) lost their second straight five-game match as fifth-place Niagara held on for a 3-2 victory. Individual scoring leaders were not immediately available.

The Conestoga women’s team, coming off its first OCAA playoff berth last season, is two points out of the final crossover playoff spot in the West Division with Redeemer College (4-5) and Sheridan College (4-5) tied for sixth.

The Condor men (0-10) are still searching for their first win of the season after being swept 3-0 by third-place Niagara.

Both teams are on the road Friday with a doubleheader at St. Clair College, starting with the women at 6 p.m.

The Condors return home Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. when they host the Humber Hawks in another men/women doubleheader at the Doon Valley campus gym.
