The Rotunda turns into a non-alcohol club lounge beginning at 7 p.m., and a night of live blues music runs on the main stage at Civic Square from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. For more information on New Year’s Eve festivities, see page 20.
Meet Mayor Carl Zehr and members of Kitchener council at the annual New Year’s Levee, held Jan. 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at City Hall.
The event includes skating as well as musical performances from King School of Vocal, Grand Harmony Chorus and the Kitchener Musical Society Band.
New this year, there are a line-up of activities especially for families, including face-painting, colouring and crafts for kids, and the Kitchener Public Library will be hosting a book and craft corner.
Residents are also invited to write their wish or resolution for 2013 on a star and hang it on the wish tree. Refreshments are provided by Bingemans.
