The reality is there is no law against partial birth abortions

Opinion Feb 15, 2017 Waterloo Chronicle

In the Jan. 26th edition  under headline, “Harnessing the Trump Effect” the abortion issue was discussed.

Jane Richard of the K-W Right to Life Association correctly stated that at present there are no laws in Canada to prohibit abortion since the abortion laws were struck down in 1989.

However, this fact was contradicted by Lyndsey Butcher of Planned Parenthood who stated that abortion in Canada is regulated by medical societies and can be conducted up to 24 weeks.

A Google search of our Ontario Medical Association and the College of Physicians and Surgeons has not a word about abortion being regulated.

In actual fact, the situation has worsened because partial birth abortions are being performed on third trimester babies with no legal repercussions.   Canada currently has no law to protect prenatal human life.

Perhaps Lyndsey Butcher believes the quote attributed to Joseph Goebbels and the propaganda machine of 80 years ago but applicable today:  “If you repeat a lie often enough people will believe it and you  will even come to believe it yourself.”
